  1. Are you certified as Scrum Master? 

You may be surprised to hear this question if you don’t have a certification. The job role may or maynot need a certification and the interviewer may feel that having a certification is the ultimate qualification for the job. 2. What role does the Scrum Master have?

The major role of a Scrum Master is to shield the team from any external distractions and helps the team complete a sprint goal on time. The scrum master coaches values and principles to the team and teach them to be organized.

3. What is a burn down chart?

A burn down chart is a comprehensive evaluation of work done by a team. It can be hours burnt during the sprint. You can compare the present evaluation with the past to decipher the progress.

4. Do you encourage a change in requirement?

The answer is yes. Agile and scrum both encourages changers and client feedback on the product. The inputs can improve the shape of the final product.

5. Can you name other Agile frameworks?

Apart from Scrum there are other frameworks like Kanban, FDD, LeSS etc. You may also mention the frameworks that you have previously worked on. A brief knowledge about these frameworks will actually help you.

6. What happens during a Script plan meeting?

In a typical sprint meeting, the product owner presents the objective of the sprint and the amount of back logs that needs to be cleared within the stipulated time. These sprints may last two to four weeks. The delivery team will then choose the next block of work to be completed next.

7. What is the difference between Agile and Waterfall methodology?

Agile is the most flexible approach to software development. It allows a change in design, approach and at some phases of development. Whereas the waterfall methodology prohibits such changes and its objective is to finish a project before taking up a new one.

8. Would you recommend automatic testing for your projects?

Scrum definitely encourages automatic testing so that the project can be handed over to the owners at the earliest. You may offer examples of automatic testing tools that you have used previously.

9. When would you use Waterfall over Scrum?

Waterfall methodology can be used when the requirement is lucid, predictable and properly defined and confirmed.

10. How many Scrum team have you managed at a time?

This is a popular trick question. Don’t fall for it easily. Interviewers are interested whether you can ‘lead’ a scrum team not just manages idly.
